Online Retailer – Delivery Centre

The project consisted of the refurbishment of an existing warehouse and external yard to suit the client’s processes and workflow operations.

The incoming HGV delivery docks were modified to increase the height of the dock openings, requiring part-replacement of precast façade panels and adjustments to the existing steel framing.

New internal drainage runs were introduced to suit the clients proposed support welfare facilities layouts, tying back into the existing onsite drainage.

The main intervention at the site required modifications to the lowered yard area where the outgoing docks had originally been built for HGVs. As part of their operations, the client required level access across the full elevation which required the construction of a steel infill platform to the lowered dock area capable of supporting van loading.

The elevated design solution allowed the flood attenuation volume that the original lowered dock area was providing to the site, to be retained. A lightweight canopy was then introduced over the top of the area to provide protection to the loading operations for the outgoing goods.
