Airbnb moved into their new headquarters building in Dublin Docklands in April 2016. The shell building was delivered under a developer led design-build contract and EirEng were part of the Heneghan Peng team appointed by Airbnb to monitor that work and provide a bespoke fit out to meet their particular work practices.
The fit out involved the construction of unique meeting and workspaces within an existing historic warehouse building and required the insertion of feature steel cantilevered stairs as a meeting terrace into confined construction zones.
There were separate teams for the main build and fit out projects and close liaison was required with the landlord design and construction teams. The project was completed successfully and a very high-quality building with intricate, bespoke details has been delivered.
