Leadership change at EirEng

Over ten years ago, when EirEng was formed by Terry Sheehan and Jeremy Lamb, several guidelines and principles were set down. One was the need to remain current and focused, and so it was decided to limit the Managing Director’s term to 10 years. The company was initially set up in the middle of a global financial crash and at the time we thought we had seen it all. We didn’t anticipate a global pandemic followed by a war. So, slightly later than planned, we are happy to announce that we are sticking to those principles.

Terry’s role was to lead EirEng through our growth from an initial group of three engineers to a company which currently has 35 plus members of staff between our two offices. Now as Covid is (hopefully) receding, we are happy to announce that Jeremy will pick up the baton for his ten-year term. There is no doubt the client focus, and adherence to good economical design will continue to improve and develop. Jeremy and Terry have worked together since 1997 and are very much aligned, and for this reason, we are confident that our clients will not notice any major changes in EirEng apart from ongoing improvements.

Terry is now looking forward to the opportunity of returning to more project-focused work for our clients, doing what he has always enjoyed – running projects and working to exceed client expectations. Moving forward, Jeremy’s role will continue with him splitting his time between both Dublin and Bath offices. Jeremy’s mission is to ensure that more clients get to benefit from the excellent technical and economical design solutions that EirEng provide.

Following the announcement of the leadership change outgoing Managing Director Terry Sheehan had this to say:

“I would like to take the opportunity to thank Jeremy Lamb and Eoghan Deasy and all at EirEng Consulting Engineers Ltd as well as all of our clients and colleagues for their support over the last ten plus years. I am looking forward to giving Jeremy the same level of support as he steps into his new role. I have every confidence that, along with our recent re-branding, this is the start of a new and exciting chapter in EirEng’s story.

I am looking forward to being along for the ride, but this time in the back seat asking – are we there yet?”
