Automated Distribution Centre Completed in Swindon

We are excited to have recently received notification that one of our major sites has achieved practical completion!

The purpose built distribution centre in Swindon with developers Panattoni boasts over 200,000m2 of warehouse space spread over 4 levels in order for a leading online retailer to serve their clients within London and the South West.

The facility also incorporates an additional 12,500m2 of offices, canteen, welfare and other spaces to cater for the large workforce being employed in the area.

Extremely challenging ground conditions of the 16.7ha site were overcome with creative solutions which both lead to efficient designs and significantly reduced the embodied carbon of the foundations as well as reducing the amount of fill to be disposed of from site. The concrete mezzanine slabs were designed and delivered to the tenants’ high precision on levelness, crack width and allowable deflection criteria to cater for their automated robotic sorting and distribution system.
